Our Work
Our belief is that education is key to curb poverty, ignorance, unemployment and corruption.
The proliferation of street children, the alarming rate of poverty, the insufficiency of schools in the village of Ngong in North Cameroon, and the poor level and quality of education in the existing government school prompted Fr. Augustin Vondou to envision a school where the youth of the community would receive a quality education. With the permission and blessing of his bishop, St. Andrew's School Ngong was started in 2012.
Our Community
The average expected years of schooling is 10 years. The level of education and gender reflects the poverty dynamic amongst Cameroonians. Quality concerns continue to plague most levels of the education system, while access to secondary and higher education remains out of reach for many of indigent communities.
Our Why
We aim to reduce barriers to education by providing quality structural education to help adolescents from all backgrounds and religious denominations thrive. Our school provides a safe learning environment, nurturing staff and a path out of poverty through a curriculum focused on empowerment, education and employment.
